Data Deletion Instructions

Effective: August 7, 2026

EventTrey lets you request deletion of your account and personal data from inside the app. This page explains the deletion paths for Facebook Login, Google Login, and email/password accounts, for both customer (planner) accounts and vendor accounts, and what we are required by law to keep.

Delete your account in the app (fastest)

  1. Sign in to EventTrey.
  2. Open Settings.
  3. Open the Danger Zone tab.
  4. Choose Delete My Account and confirm.

Your account is closed immediately, you are signed out of every device, and your sign-in record is removed at once. Associated personal data is then erased or pseudonymised, except for records we are legally required to keep (see “What we must retain” below).

Request deletion or a data-rights review

If you want EventTrey to review a request manually, or you want a formal record of a data-subject request:

  1. Sign in and open Settings → Privacy & data.
  2. Submit a permanent-deletion request from the data-rights flow. You can track it, and cancel it while it is still pending.

If you cannot sign in, email our Data Protection Officer at eventtrey-team@eventtrey.com from the email address on your account, with the subject “Data deletion request”. We may ask you to verify account ownership before we process it.

Verified requests are completed within 30 days, in line with the Philippine Data Privacy Act (RA 10173).

If you signed up with Facebook or Google

Deleting your EventTrey account through either method above also removes the data tied to your Facebook or Google login. For Facebook you may also trigger removal from Facebook directly: Settings & Privacy → Settings → Apps and Websites → EventTrey → Remove. We process the resulting request the same way and within the same timeframe.

What gets deleted

For customer and planner accounts, EventTrey deletes the account record, profile, saved preferences, messages, and the data only needed to operate the account (events, bookings, reviews, tasks, guests, and budget items).

For vendor accounts, EventTrey removes or anonymises personal account data while preserving records that must stay available for booking, payout, tax, fraud-prevention, dispute, and legal-compliance purposes (see below).

What we must retain (and why)

Some records are kept after account deletion only where the law or an overriding operational need requires it, then removed:

  • Booking and payment records — retained to meet Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) recordkeeping rules.
  • Verification documents (vendors) — retained for a limited period to support fraud and chargeback investigations.
  • Records tied to an open dispute — retained until the dispute closes.
  • Security logs and audit trails — retained for the minimum period needed to keep the service safe.

Retained records are limited to the minimum necessary, isolated from active use, and deleted, anonymised, or pseudonymised once the retention purpose expires.

Timing and confirmation

In-app deletion from the Danger Zone takes effect immediately; any residual or backup copies are purged within 90 days. Verified deletion or data-rights requests are completed within 30 days. If a request is complex or legally restricted, we will explain the status and which records we must retain. After processing, we send confirmation to the email address on the account or to the verified requester.
